On tour, he's set to perform "From Blockbusters to Broadway: 100 Hits of Stage & Screen." Taking his whimsical pieces and hilarious bits to the stage, it's Jason Lyle Black's nationwide coast-to-coast show with 30+ cities and counting on the list. Performing over a hundred pieces on stage, it's a fast-paced and one-of-a-kind piano recital. "This new show builds on a lot of what I did before which was a show around Broadway and so on — so it’s still in that same world but all-new music and just kind of a bigger sound," Black shared via Pleasanton Weekly. Sharing that he's adding a couple of songs from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Phantom of the Opera” alongside rockin' hits from the likes of The Rolling Stones and AC/DC. Seems like his newest blockbuster is gonna be packed with immense energy.
"It’s almost like a ‘Name that Tune’ type of experience for people because there’s just so much music that you hear and recognize," he added.
More than the piano, his new arrangements bring in the drums, telling The Weekly how this is the biggest thing about his new trek. Moreover, he's got some new visual effects and some tricks such as playing the piano backwards.
Reviving his live piano performances, he says that "One of my passions now is creating that really cinematic, symphonic sound with a surprisingly small stage." With intimate moments in the mix, it's a carefully-crafted show that everyone's surely gonna enjoy.
