McAllen Performing Arts Center
La Güerita Consentida, Alicia Villarreal, is taking all of her hits to fans in McAllen, Texas, on Saturday, October 11th. This show is part of her "Donde Todo Comenzo 2.0" tour. McAllen is one of the cities that Alicia Villarreal loves to stop at. She comes around almost on a yearly basis, if not more. That doesn't mean, though, that you can afford to skip this show!
Alicia Villareal developed a devoted fan base and was one of the pioneers in Grupero music through the 90s. Thanks to her iconic squeaky voice, she's still able to sing with the best of them. The moves are still there, too. You're really going to think it's a "Limite" concert from the late 90s that's taking place at the McAllen Performing Arts Center in October.

If the name of the tour is any indication, this show is going to be a tour down memory lane. Where it all began for Alicia Villarreal was in Grupo Limite, with the two blonde ponytails that almost immediately made her into a household name. Even though the look attracted a lot of guys to the show, she was one of the voices for female empowerment in Mexico, way before that was super popular. These days, a lot of her songs are up there with the late Jenny Rivera's tracks as those that women play on repeat!
This is one of the main question marks that people who haven't seen "La Guera" live for a while now have going into one of her concerts. Spoilers are not something that we're into here, but for years now, she's been able to sing "Te Aprovechas" in her live appearances. There's no question that this is one of the songs that gets the most fanfare. What you also get with Alicia Villarreal is her take on a lot of classics. She's got a version of Antonio Aguilar's "Tristes Recuerdos." "Te Quedo Grande La Yegua," is another one of her songs that always finds a way onto her live shows. Remember that she sings grupera music, but she can switch to Mariachi on a dime. What she brings to the stage is a well-rounded show every time out!
Having a spot close to the stage is always a good idea regardless of who's playing. If you're out here to dance some quebradita, however, it could be a good idea to find spots in the front rows of the different sections or a seat near the aisles. Those are going to offer more legroom to get up and dance. The good thing is your view of the stage will be immaculate from anywhere in the house, really.
