McAllen Performing Arts Center
In a world full of "singers" without an ounce of vocal talent, we can be thankful that we still have Elias Medina. His mix of norteño music and boleros is unique in the Mexican regional genre. If you come out to the McAllen Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 10th, be prepared for things to get romantic.
Elias is on a tour titled "La Experiencia" that sees him cover multiple US cities. Throughout the road trip, he'll be up on multiple stages singing tracks from his latest album, "Corridos y Caguamas." One quick look at his music library, and you get a great idea of what you can expect when this man hits the stage. If you feel a little heartbroken, he's got some tracks that can provide a great remedy. Don't worry if you feel fine; Elias has a way of making some of those sad memories creep back in! It's a night to sing along like your twice-divorced tia. Click that get tickets button now to be a part of the fun.
Elias has been one of the few singers in the Mexican regional genre that has leaned into the romantic bolero scene. That's almost a part of the genre that's reserved for some of the OGs, like "El Buki." Meanwhile, the new generation just does corridos belicones. There's an obvious reason why Elias Medina is able to dip his feet in both pools, and that's the fact that he can sing. Yes, this is another jab at Dani Flow and company. To be fair, those shows are not necessarily family-friendly. When you look across the crowd, though, at the McAllen Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 10th, you'll realize people of all ages will be in the audience.
In fact, this concert might be one of the best ways to celebrate Mother's Day. Don't be surprised if Elias does his version of "Señora, Señora." He'll mix that in with a set that's going to include "Rezando Por Ella," and maybe even "La Del Pendejo." These Elias Medina songs cut deep, and that last track is one that a lot of friend groups have had a ton of fun with. Everyone has that friend who's always made questionable decisions, and Elias could've perfectly used an example to write that song. Overall, though, it's a romantic night that anyone can enjoy. Use it as an excuse to celebrate Mother's Day or just come out with your partner for a good date night. You won't regret it!
There's no question that most of these artists who sing with la banda are accustomed to performing on circular stages in the palanques. The setup at the McAllen Performing Arts is going to be unique, with a more traditional stage. To get the most out of your experience, you're going to want to find either spot with some extra legroom or at least seats close to exits and concessions to re-fuel. Try to picture the type of experience that you want to have on Saturday, May 10th, before rushing to choose where you want to sit. Click that get tickets button once you're ready to make this choice.
