They’re creepy, and they’re kooky; mysterious, and spooky; they’re altogether ooky – The All Star Theatre is bringing the wickedly wonderful musical comedy, The Addams Family, to the McAllen Performing Arts Centre on 28 April 2024!
With a long history of quality productions, the All Star Kids Club is back and going ghoulish with the Broadway musical that first saw the stage in 2010. With wickedly witty dialogue and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and a delectably dark book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice based on the kooky comic strip “The Addams Family” by Charles Addams, the musical has been all around the world and is finally coming to South Texas.
The Addams Family is magically full of malice, mischief, and mayhem and will have the audience in the palm of their cold, dead hands. Tickets are on sale now, with prices starting at a freakishly low $41. Hit that lurking button right now and get yours!

Even though there were multiple screen adaptations of The Addams Family, it is the first time that the freaky family makes it onto a stage with its own spookily spectacular story – and we are screaming like banshees!
There’s never a dull moment when the world’s most ghoulish family, The Addams Family, is around. With the unmissable music, delightfully paired theatrical aspects, and enthralling characters, the audience is in for a special treat.
With its slightly lighter, more humorous touch, The Addams Family racked up numerous awards, such as a Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, the Drama League award for distinguished achievement in musical theatre, as well as two Tony Award nominations.
The wickedly witty story, masterfully penned by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, witnesses the slightly more grown-up princess of darkness, Wednesday Addams, falling in love (who knew this was even possible!) with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have never met. She spills the skeletons towards Gomez, who is now in a slight predicament — keeping a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. A daringly dreadful dinner is organized for Wednesday’s very normal boyfriend and his parents. On that very fateful night, everything changed for our favorite family.
The arts are very much alive and well in South Texas. All Star Theatre (All South Texas Artists Reunited) is a non-profit organization with the fostering of tremendous local talent within the Rio Grande Valley at the core of their practice. Under the leadership of executive artistic director Joel A. Garza, the passionate team at All Star Theatre pushes theatre education beyond the boundaries of the classroom. From marketing director Carlos Pérez and vocal director Sophie Casas to dance director Holly Ann Amstutz and acting directors Emily Villarreal and Daniel Garza; from vocal assistant Priscilla Valencia and dance assistant Andrea Cantu to company manager Christina Luera and production coordinator Bryanna Barrera – the creative team is extremely passionate and dedicated.
The magnificent McAllen Performing Arts Centre will be transformed into a supernatural, enthralling haunted mansion (and graveyard), taking the audience on an excitingly eerie journey with Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Thing, and Lurch at the helm. The vast theatrical complex is ready to seat 1,800 ghostly audience members.
