The Rock Orchestra By Candlelight at McAllen Performing Arts Center

THE ROCK ORCHESTRA.

The Rock Orchestra is a fifteen strong, somewhat classical, orchestra, comprising some of the country's most experienced and talented musicians, all dressed in skeleton costumes, performing iconic rock and metal tracks from the last forty years, all under the light of a thousand candle. The performance began as The Festival of Death, but during the Covid pandemic, the candles were added, and the performance's title morphed into this much loved and much sought after orchestral extravaganza. These evenings' performances have been loved and acclaimed, not only by rock and metal enthusiasts, but also, surprisingly, by orchestral and chamber music lovers. 

THE ROCK ORCHESTRA BY CANDLELIGHT AT MCALLEN PERFORMING ARTS. 

Can you imagine stepping through the main entrance of the theater and being met by a stage, decked out, exquisitely, by a thousand candles - everywhere. On the stage between the pre-placed music stands. On the stage floor. Arranged up the side walls of the wings, and even hanging from the ceilings. What a sight. The musicians enter from stage left, take up their formal positions, all facing away from you. A signal, unseen or heard by most of the audience, will announce the start of the performance and all the skeleton uniformed musicians turn to face the audience. We have begun.

Wonderful memories flood your mind, as nostalgic rock music wells forth, spanning your childhood, through your teenager years and into adult life, listening to the radio/ cd / computer. Music you have not heard for the last forty years. The build up alone is an experience not to be missed. The memorable music flows into your experience, of this truly unforgettable evening's performance. This superlative performance can only be described as very, very unique. THE MCALLEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

In the city of McAllen, Texas, the McAllen Performing Arts Center was designed as a multipurpose events' venue. The venue, with the associated Convention Center, hosts anything up to five hundred events a year, accommodating close to four hundred thousand ticket holders. It has recently become, a much sought after, pop music concert venue. Opened in 2016, it goes without saying, that this venue has the most up-to-date and modern facilities. Exquisite pin-drop sound acoustics. Lighting solutions NASA would go to the moon for, and the seating would be better suited to Royal Residences.
